To All Veterans Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Thank You!
Today marks a national holiday to honor our war veterans over the years. Our country is more 200 plus years and has had it fair share of wars from civil to international. For every man and woman who have made the sacrifice to answer that call on all our behalf.
It was called Armistice Day, made official by President Wilson in 1919. It was celebrated on the 11th day of the 11th month, the time WWI ended. It was recognized by Congress in a resolution in 1926 but didn’t became an official national holiday until 1938.
While its history in name and purpose has gone through some changes, the awesome men and women that leave our shores in the thousands to defend, protect, share our democratic ideas aboard, then come back to the unsettling readjustment at home. In some cases the lack of support from both our government and citizenry, these few good men and women we recognize as veterans will do it all over the same way.
It is my prayer for those brave soldiers that did not make it back, suffered wounds that rob them of being whole that this occasion will bring something of measure for the sacrifice they have made that I might be able to freely write this blog today.
Again for every Veteran past and present much THANKS and GRATITUDE for your service!
